Packing, Transport and Storage

TRANSPORT AND WAREHOUSING OF SOLBET BLOCKS

Cellular concrete is high quality material, both technically and functionally, however, it should be dealt with in a careful way. The state of concrete blocks when they reach a construction site depends on:

  • technological standards of the producer as well as of the carrier and recipient
  • the manner in which they are stored by the producer, the wholesale company and at the construction site
  • means of transport

Both the producer and the recipient of the material should store the blocks on an even and hardened surface. The recipient is responsible for provision of the construction site, and taking care of access roads in order to ease access for transport vehicles. The recipient bears responsibility for any possible damages to the material resulting from improperly prepared surface.

While storing, the blocks should be protected against damage as well as dampness. SOLBET blocks kept an pallets should be unloaded mechanically, and placed in such a way so that in each pile there are no more than two pallets vertically; and on even, hardened surface.

SOLBET blocks manufactured according to DIN 4165 standard are sold on non-returnable film-wrapped pallets. The most proper way of transporting these products is on specially adapted vehicles, equipped with unloading devices to be used at a construction site. It is advisable to unload and store pallets individually on a hard surface, ensuring their stability. The best solution is to keep the material in proximity to where it is going to be used, and where the access to it will be convenient at all building stages. In this way, unnecessary moving of the material will be avoided.
